"No one in the world was ever you before,
with your particular gifts and abilities and possibilities.
It's a shame to waste those by doing what someone else has done."
– Joseph Campbell
I offer individual, HIPAA-compliant telehealth counseling sessions to residents of Washington and Idaho who are age 18 and older. At this time, I am not offering in-person sessions.

My approach to therapy
Following the humanistic teachings of Carl Rogers and Viktor Frankl, I believe that each and every one of us has an innate ability for self-understanding and for altering our self-concepts, basic attitudes, and self-directed behavior. I also believe that each and every one of us has within us the capacity for change. As your therapist it is my intent to create a safe space for you to tap into your inner wisdom. I do this through unconditional empathy, listening and understanding of where you are at in the moment. I also draw upon a combination of theoretical orientations, including solution-focused therapy, family systems therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
I provide counseling for a wide variety of issues, including:
Depression
Anxiety
Grief and Loss
Long-term Health Issues
Major Life Transitions
Unresolved Trauma and Childhood Abuse
Family of Origin Issues
Shame and Guilt
Sexual Identity
Geriatric Mental Health
Education, training, and licensure
I received a Bachelors in Communications from the University of Idaho and a Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis on Family Systems from LIOS Graduate College of Saybrook University. As part of my graduate studies I completed an internship at Child and Family Counseling in Kent, Washington. I have also worked with adults and elders in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, as well as those dealing with long-term health issues and those in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. In addition, I have worked as an emergency room social worker in the Seattle area and as a counselor for Community Cancer Services in Sandpoint, where I worked with cancer patients and their families. I am continually furthering my education as a therapist through training, workshops, consult groups and through current literature in psychology and psychotherapy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho.
And some personal stuff . . .
I grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho and moved back to the area in 2018, after spending many years in Seattle. Currently, I reside in Walla Walla, Washington and enjoy doing telehealth sessions with residents of Washington and Idaho. In my personal time, I love being outside and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and in summer you'll find me riding my motorcycle and exploring the back roads of this beautiful area of the world. My personal experience in counseling and dealing with the loss of a parent to cancer led me to want to help others. I am continually humbled and inspired by the insights, growth, and self-discovery that occur in the therapeutic process.
